Rules of
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS
of the
Westchester County
Society of
Real Estate Appraisers, Inc.
Under all wealth is the land — a base that has stood since the beginning of time. The appraiser of real property is the instrumentality through which the lands and its improvements are evaluated. Upon his knowledge, the life savings of the poor and the rich are invested. A grave social and moral obligation rests upon his shoulders, and he must be diligent in preparing himself for his specialized tasks.
The appraiser, therefore, is zealous to maintain and improve the standards of his calling and shares with his fellow appraisers a mutual responsibility for its
integrity, accuracy and honor.
He can take no safer guide than that embodied in the Golden Rule: “Whatsoever you would that men should do unto you, do you also unto them.”
Accepting this standard as his own, every member appraiser pledges himself to observe its spirit in all his
dealings and to conduct his business pursuant thereto.
